Authors: Hara Garoufalia-Middle, Howard Middle, Shirley Baldwin, and Hara G. Middle
Average review score:

Have realistic expectations, and enjoy
This is an excellent book for someone who wants to know just enough Greek to enjoy a vacation. I purchased this book five weeks before a trip to Greece, and found that I could order from a menu, give directions to a taxi driver, read Greek (could not always understand it), and exchange pleasantries. Now, I would like to refresh with this book, and then find an intermediate course to continue learning such a wonderful language!

The Cornucopia Kids:indulged children don't achieve
I come from China. I was a typical Cornucopia kid. My parents gave me everything and did everything for me. They are my brain and hands. When I have grown up, I don't know many thing and don't know how to deal with any problem. 13 years ago, I came to America by my own because I wanted to come here(many of my friends came here for studying.)When I came here, I met a lot unexpected difficulty. I believed the things whoever told me. As a result, I was kidnapped by someone. Mens used me and abused me. I then, want to suicide and went to mental hospital and women shleter. I had no goal and didn't know how to arrange me life and my future. I cried every day and I couldn't sleep(at that time, I often couldn't sleep 2 or 3 days. I was so scared. Then, I was sent to see a psychiatrist and psychological counselor. I took mental medicine for 3 years. That counselor helped me a lot. She helped me how to protect myself and didn't easily to trust others. I hated my parents because they didn't qualify to be parents. They did whatever I wanted, never teaching me how to handle my life. Now, I am a teacher and my major is Child Development. I want to find out why my fate was so terrible. Also, I am a Chinese writer. I want to write a (Chinese) novel, warning other Cornucopia kids. That is why I want to buy this book.

Cycling Hawaii (Bicycle Books)
Published in Paperback by Motorbooks International (November, 1997)
Author: Jeff Baldwin
Average review score:

Excellent resource for serious tourers
This book provides excellent information about every major paved road in Hawaii, including elevation profiles. I found it invaluable in planning my tours of the islands. I wish every state had books that covered them this well. The only (minor) shortcoming was that the listing of inexpensive motels/B&Bs was incomplete, a gap which was easily filled by any of the general tourist books on Hawaii, such as the Lonely Planet guide.

Daniel
Published in Paperback by Intervarsity Press (December, 1978)
Authors: Joyce G. Baldwin and Donald J. Wiseman
Average review score:

I have used this commentary for twenty years.
I purchased this commentary as a young lawyer teaching Sunday School in 1980, and it has helped me communicate the stories in this book to many. I found the book useful as a layman and after attending seminary found it remained helpful at the scholarly level as well. Baldwin breathes life into the fabulous stories with which Daniel begins - stories usually taught to children and rarely preached or made the subject of adult Bible study, and the book is most helpful in illuminating these stories - the four Hebrew youths in captivity, the fiery furnace, the lions' den, and the writing on the wall. The more eschatological material that forms the latter part of the prophet's book is well treated, and the author avoids falling into the abyss of too closely pressing the details. It is a sound book in a sound series (Tyndale Old Testament Commentaries), and should help anyone teach, preach or simply enjoy the faith stories of Daniel and his friends.

Death in His Saddlebags: Charles Baldwin Genung - Arizona Pioneer

Author: Dan B. Genung

Death in his saddlebags
Charlie is my uncle and i grew up hearing these stories. It was so very nice to finally have them in print. Although some of the stories are a little far fetched, they are very entertaining. It's a good book to read to learn about the Prescott area.

The Elizabethan World
Published in Hardcover by Houghton Mifflin Co (June, 1973)
Author: Lacey Baldwin Smith
Average review score:

A good pictoral overview of the Elizabethan era
The publishers of Horizon are well known for their large format pictoral essays on history and art. Lacey Baldwin Smith's book is a very good example of their work. It is broad in its approach and includes descriptions of the world both inside and outside of Elizabeth I's England. Although few of the plates are in color, the black and white images are large and clear. The etchings and woodcuts lose little for being monochromatic. The author makes good use of first hand accounts and narratives, and supports them with background commentary. These accounts are annotated with the name of the author and work. This is not a scholarly work, but as "coffee table" reading it is quite good. I would recommend it to anyone who would like a good general reading of the Elizabethan era.

Environmental Planning and Management
Published in Hardcover by Westview Press (September, 1984)
Author: John H. Baldwin
Average review score:

Planning and Managing of Land for a better Environment
...the major focus of the book published by WESTVIEW PRESS. Baldwin presents a collection of THEORY and CASE STUDIES for university use in developing professionals who will one day manage the major communities of United States and the world. There are bare case scenarios for developing sites in third world environments and for stabilizing the many ghettos strewn across the face of Europe and America. He offers an intellectual view of cognitive development for the land developer and for the government employee. His material is drwn from first hand knowledge of involvement with government divisions.
